Daphne and Dani's trip to Portland has been a real success. On their first visit to the quarry they managed to find "the" stone that will give birth to the central feature of the Patio de San Juan de la Cruz (St John of the Cross' Courtyard) at the Hacienda. A larger than life size sculpture of the Spanish mystic representing his spiritual journey through the Dark Night of the Soul into a deep encounter with the Beloved (God).

The actual stone (Portland) is over 5 tons and about 2 cubic metres and will be transported from Portland to London. These pictures show the quarry and the process of selection of the stone.
