This week we have been pleased to welcome Erica Longfellow along with her unruly women!

In the 1650s when an independent London congregation decided that women really should be silent in church, one ordinary woman, Anne Harriman stopped attending and asked that the church hold a debate on the matter, ‘for she could not walk where she had not libertie to speak’.  Harriman is part of a long line of women struggling with the competing demands of Christianity and culture. In this retreat for men and women we will consider the quandaries and choices of our foremothers in the faith, including women from history and the Bible.
